My musical influences



Asking Alexandria is a metalcore band from North Yorkshire, England which was formed in 2008.

Formed when the guitarist, Ben Bruce contacting old friends who return from Dubai.

Asking Alexandria roots in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where the guitarist Ben Bruce's musical career started at the bottom band called Amongst Us.

In the fall of 2003, Amongst Us combining melodic and hardcore vocals with elements of music that is more 'hardcore' and heavier.

Like other bands that grew up, some band members will be leaving Dubai. In an interview with Gulf News, Bruce declared 'it was ridiculously hard to keep the band going Because people come and go in Dubai'.

With members and new material, there are thought to change the name, and the End of Reason is selected and written by EndofReason.

And after having a new name, they released the EP: Tomorrow.Hope.Goodbye.

With the release of the album, they finally achieved success in England and the United States.

It makes them binding contract with Sonicwave International in the USA and Hangmans Joke Recording in the UK.

They are also opening for bands like Boy Sets Fire, Pennywise, Jimmy Eat World, etc.. as their success, in 2007 they renamed their band became Asking Alexandria.

On June 25, 2007, Asking Alexandria released the album The Irony of Your Perfection under Hangmans Joke Records.

Then they toured for 9 months in the UK and also some countries such as Germany, Holland, France and Sweden.

Asking Alexandria and name only lasted a few months before finally disbanding.

In 2008, Bruce returned to England and left the band and other members.

Even so, Bruce has no plans to hang a musical career.

and not long after his move, he started back with a new member with the name Asking Alexandria.

Bruce stated in his MySpace, that he who created the name Asking Alexandria.

Therefore, how did he still liked the name and plans to create a new project.


He also stated that the Asking Alexandria are now different from the Asking Alexandria during the release of The Irony of Your Perfection.

Both the style and its members.

They changed the format of the band from 6 people to 5 people in coming out with Ryan Binns.

Sam Bettley also replaces Joe Lancaster in January 2009.

After completing the year 2008 and January 2009 to 'promote' names Asking Alexandria, they recorded their debut album on May 19 and June 16 at The Foundation Recordings Studio in Connersville, Indiana with producer Joey Sturgis.

They announced they were joining behwa Sumerian Records after completing their recording process.

And Stand up and scream album was released on 15 September 2009 with their new label.

They focus in 2009 to achieve success in the United States, such as by doing a tour with Enter Shikari, Alesana, The Bled, Evergreen Terrace, etc..

On December 22, 2009, they stated that they will soon be working on a new album in January 2010.

They also stated that they will begin recording in September 2010 along with Joey Sturgis.

In an interview with shred News, they stated that the album will be released in early 2011 and the plan contains 12 songs.
